DHS Announces Operation to Target Criminal Smuggling Organizations

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas  announced a new counter-network targeting operation focused on transnational criminal organizations affiliated with the smuggling of migrants. 

“Transnational criminal organizations put profit over human life, with devastating consequences,” said Secretary Mayorkas.  “With the help of our federal and foreign partners, we aim to cut off access to that profit by denying these criminals the ability to engage in travel, trade, and finance in the United States. We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed.” 

The new anti-smuggling effort, called Operation Sentinel, is a collaborative effort with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of State, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice. 

“Smuggling operations continue to lie and exploit vulnerable populations to promote their criminal enterprise – the health and safety of migrants does not influence their lucrative ambition,” said CBP Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner Troy Miller.  “This operation is designed to disrupt every facet of the logistical network of these criminal organizations.  Our goal is to enhance the security of the U.S. border and help save the lives of those who are preyed upon by these unscrupulous criminals.” 

“ICE agents combat cross-border criminal activity every day to ensure the overall safety, security and well-being of our nation,” said Acting ICE Director Tae D. Johnson. “Collaborating on this endeavor with our partners amplifies our ability to disrupt and dismantle these criminal organizations that exploit and dehumanize people.” 

"We are proud to be part of this effort to stop transnational criminal organizations and their networks from smuggling human beings across our borders," said Acting Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Ian Brownlee. 

Partners in Operation Sentinel will target all personnel and identifiable resources that transnational criminal organizations require to operate.  Utilizing the full breadth of domestic and foreign authorities, data, analytic capability and capacity, Operation Sentinel will map the organizations’ networks; target their members, associates, and assets; and employ a series of targeted actions and sanctions against them.  Examples of these actions include: 

• Revocation of travel documents
• Suspension and debarment of trade entities
• Freezing of bank accounts and other financial assets tied to TCO logistical networks.

Transnational criminal organizations pose significant dangers to migrants as they not only seek to profit from their exploitation but also have little regard for their wellbeing, exposing them to violent encounters, injury, and death.  These organizations are complicit in sexual assaults, human trafficking, and abandonment of vulnerable migrants – including tender-aged children. In Fiscal Year 2020, Border Patrol located 250 migrants who died during their journey.

 

DEA Agents Convicted of conspiracy, seizure of property, and removal of property.

 

Former DEA special agent Chad Scott, who was once nationally known for his track record as an officer, was convicted by a federal jury in New Orleans for his role in a long-running scheme to steal personal property and money from individuals who had been arrested, according to the Department of Justice.

Scott, 53, of Covington, will appear in court one more time for sentencing on Aug. 11.

Rodney P. Gemar, 45, of Ponchatoula, was also found guilty of conspiracy, seizure of property, and removal of property. U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo of the Eastern District of Louisiana, who presided over the trial, has scheduled his sentencing for Dec. 4.

According to court documents, Scott and Gemar were accused of taking items like wallets, phones, and keys instead of logging these items into evidence or returning them to the owners.

After a co-conspirator was arrested documents say, Scott and Gemar, along with another colleague named Karl Newman, destroyed the evidence of their crimes, in part by throwing the evidence into the swamps outside New Orleans. They also allegedly used approximately $4,800 in money stolen from arrestees to pay for an attorney for their arrested co-conspirator.

Scott has been fired from the DEA. Gemar has been removed from the DEA task force.

Two other former Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies who had been serving as DEA task force officers in New Orleans have pleaded guilty in this investigation. Karl Emmett Newman, 54, of Kentwood, pleaded guilty to unlawfully carrying a firearm in furtherance of an August 2015 robbery, which was disguised as the execution of a search warrant, as well as misappropriating money confiscated by the DEA during another search. Johnny Domingue, 32, of Maurepas, Louisiana, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and misappropriating money confiscated by the DEA.

Heavily Armed Mexican Army Crossing U.S. Border Onto American Soil

Its been reported that a “foreign military incursion” was detected and confirmed just 50 yards past the U.S.-Mexico border into Arizona. According to documents obtained by the www.usborderfirereport.com, two heavily-armed and camouflaged Mexican soldiers crossed the border and engaged in a tense, 35 minutes-long standoff with U.S. Border Patrol agents. Guns were drawn.

Though shots were never fired, the incident – described by U.S. officials as one of the most serious incursions in recent years – narrowly missed becoming a national tragedy. The Mexican soldiers, who misidentified themselves, only retreated back over the border after the U.S. agents called for backup.

According to a Times report, the incident is only one of nearly two dozen incursions into the U.S. by Mexican soldiers in the last sereral years. That statistic alone underscores the chaos and violence border patrol agents face when trying to protect American citizens from, among other things, cross-border crime.

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell Believed In UFO'S

 

Scientist-Astronaut Edgar Mitchell dropped a bombshell speaking at the fifth annual X-Conference saying “there is extraterrestrial life, and that it’s being concealed by the United States government”. The conference is where a group of speakers discuss “the governmental, political and media aspects of 60+ years of extraterrestrial engagement and government denials. George Noory Coast to Coast AM radio show host and famous author and archaeologist Graham Hancock where among others to speak at the gathering.During Mitchell’s presentation he explained that, having grown up in Roswell, New Mexico, the site of disputed UFO crash in 1947. Mitchell says he and other members of his community were told by military authorities not to talk about it. But witnesses “didn’t want to go to the grave with their story. They wanted to tell somebody reliable. And being a local boy and having been to the moon, they considered me reliable enough to whisper in my ear their particular story.” Mitchell claims, they eventually want the story out, and he is viewed as a credible messenger because of his resume.“I urge those who are doubtful: Read the books, read the lore, start to understand what has really been going on. Because there really is no doubt we are being visited,” he said.“The universe that we live in is much more wondrous, exciting, complex and far-reaching than we were ever able to know up to this point in time.”Mitchell claimed he used his highly-regarded status to speak confidentially with a Pentagon admiral, who confirmed the UFO crash at Roswell. He claims he has since spoken to government officials from three different countries who say they have had contact with aliens. He is now calling for NASA and the government to stop hiding evidence of alien contact and start being honest with the American public.A NASA spokesperson responded saying that “NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere else – period.”This information Mitchell has said before but different this time is the mainstream media has picked it up as while as cyberspace. Mitchell has set the Internet ablaze with articles, blogs, and forum discussion. One reporter said what is getting all of the attention is Mitchell is a man who is respected highly, and a national hero, has with a somber, straight face told the world without reservation that we have been visited by UFOs, aliens are real, and our government is indeed, covering up this information.“Our destiny, in my opinion, and we might as well get started with it, is [to] become a part of the planetary community. … We should be ready to reach out beyond our planet and beyond our solar system to find out what is really going on out there.” Mitchell has said.Mitchell as a Navy officer achieved a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He also holds honorary doctorates from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, New Mexico State University, the University of Akron, and Carnegie Mellon University.On Britain’s Kerrang radio show on July 23, 2008, Mitchell told the world that the 500+ witnesses telling us that a UFO from another world crashed in Roswell, N.M, in 1947, were in fact, telling the truth, and that a government cover-up of UFO and alien information began at that time, and continues today. We have been visited by beings from other worlds a number of other times also, some of which he had insider knowledge of during his time at NASA. These events were also covered up. Is this attitude really any different from those “simpletons” of 500 years ago?My training at NASA only allows me to look at things scientifically. Even if I hadn’t been shown evidence of alien landings on Earth, the assumption must be that somewhere in the universe another planet is capable of supporting alien life.Those life-forms need not be “little green men”. The scientists’ definition of intelligent life is whether or not it can use and manage information. Even the most primitive microbes on Earth qualify by that definition, and surely there are at the very least similar microbes thriving on planets throughout the universe.I would describe myself as a cynic. I wasn’t convinced about the existence of aliens until I started talking to the military old-timers who were there at the time of Roswell. The more government documentation on aliens I was told about, the more convinced I became.I firmly believe that this documentation will have to be made public within the next three or four years. Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and the Tohono D' O'dham Indian Reservation, and all along the southern side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend. And they are equipped with Stryker armored fighting vehicles.

Arizona Citizen Militia (ACM) spokesman only known as HammerDown said, “We are going to hunt the Zetas and destroy them like the vermin that they are. This won't be just War, this will be Extermination.”

Recently published in the U.S. Border Fire report was a threat by a Mexican national who claimed to be an Los Zetas Mexican Drug cartel officer, who told this reporter the following “I now believe my men were shot by crazed American vigilante cowards, who ambushed my solders at night, shot them from a great distance using high powered American rifles. Than our load of drugs were stolen”.

The Zetas say that attacks like this one is occurring frequently along the U.S. Mexican Border he said a Zetas patrol was ambushed by a large contingent of American vigilantes killing two of his solders and wounding three others.

The following communication from the Pima County Arizona Citizens Militia group took place around the same time frame and may bear out the Zetas commander’s claims:

"0545 hours MST – 13 Jul 2010 – approx. 7 miles west of Ruby, AZ –

six enemy, in uniform, carrying AK and SKS rifles – enemy were engaged by ACM forces as they tried to cross the international fence – two enemy KIA confirmed, unknown number of enemy WIA, no friendly casualties…"

The Zetas office said, “This is a warning to those type groups that his men have been instructed to shoot and kill any Americans who are seen armed and roaming the deserts”. He went on to say that the murder of his men has not been properly investigated by the sheriff of Pinal County.

According to the ACM Commander his message to the Commander of the Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas is as follows:

"God may show them Mercy. We will not. These Zetas are not Soldiers, not Partisans, and not Militia. Under the Law of Land Warfare and the Geneva and Hague Conventions, they are Brigands, Terrorists, and Marauders, no different from Pirates. They are going to be dealt with as such. When our forces engage these war criminals, we will show them no Mercy, we will neither ask for nor offer them any Quarter, and we will take no Prisoners. We are going to hunt the Zetas and destroy them like the vermin that they are. This won't be just War, this will be Extermination. Tell the Zetas' Commander that, like Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, all he has done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible

resolve. We are coming for them, and Hell will be following right behind us."

Just today reports have started coming in that what appear to be U.S. Military units are being seen on and near the U.S. Mexican border close to Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and the Tohono D' O'dham Indian Reservation and all along the southern side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend. And there are reports that they are equipped with Stryker armored fighting vehicles.

This Stryker vehicle formerly known as the Interim Armored Vehicle, the Stryker Light Armored Vehicle III [LAV III] is at the center of the Army's Interim Brigade Combat Teams. The IBCTs are lighter and more mobile, yet offer firepower no enemy can hope to match including the Mexican Army regulars and the paramilitary of the Mexican drug cartels.

The Stryker vehicle and U.S. troops that many believe are being deployed to the southern border to support an action involving the U.S. Army, Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol and other federal agencies.

According to one federal employee who is not authorized to talk about it was over heard saying that he believes this action is designed at curtailing the Mexican drug cartels drug smuggling capabilities in the area. He says that he and others believe this is what last weeks warning to federal employees was all about when they were warned to stay away from the U.S. Mexican Border by the Border Patrol.

Here is a copy of that statement the federal employee refers to: …I am a federal employee…who often does field work near the border. Last week we were told to not travel to field sites within 5 miles of the border between Buenos Aires Nat Wildlife Refuge and Douglas, i.e basically the entire SE Arizona border. This decision was apparently based on communications with the Border Patrol and is supposed to be a temporary situation. I have no other information and don’t know if any other agencies are issuing similar warnings. But, this leads me to believe that some US operation is planned or the Border Patrol is anticipating something from across the border….

American Militia organizations and other groups of this nature are popping up all over America and in large numbers in states on the southern border with Mexico, according to a federal law enforcement agent. Arizona is leading the pack in shear numbers of new groups and some of the largest numbers of man power. One such group is the Arizona Citizens Militia believed to be the largest in Arizona according to one Arizona news TV station. One law enforcement agency has found 50 new militia training groups, some of them made up of former police officers and U.S. soldiers.

During my recent e-mail and phone interview with HammerDown who claims to be an Arizona Citizens Militia Unit Coordinator told me about the ACM in general terms and said that the following information was cleared by ACM HQ: We here at the U.S. Border Fire Report felt that this information would be interesting to our readers and pertinent to the violence on and not so near the U.S. Border with Mexico.

The ACM State Headquarters is composed of the State Commander, his Executive Officer (XO, Second in Command), and the Commander's Staff. Below that are our separate and independent County Units, each with its own Command Structure. Size and composition of the County Units will vary, as will their Mission.

ACM County Units will assemble occasionally for joint Field Training Exercises (FTX's) or for joint Tactical missions along our southern border. Only during those assemblies will ACM Headquarters exercise direct Command and Control over our County Units.

The rest of the time, our County Units operate almost completely independently. ACM HQ establishes standards for training, online training references, and commonality of uniforms and communications equipment. Our HQ manages our website at: www.arizonamilitia.com and deals with the news media.

ACM members must agree not to divulge their identities and affiliation with the ACM publicly, and are not authorized to identify themselves as members of the ACM to the news media.

County Unit leaders are known by name only to their unit members. Members and Leaders from one unit rarely know the names of other Unit Leaders or members. We know each other by our radio callsigns only. Not even our Commander knows the names of our County Unit members, nor even the County Unit Leaders.

The ACM is structured this way so that if one unit is compromised or infiltrated, no other units will be at risk.

Some of our county units train and prepare to resist any attempt to impose tyranny or Martial Law on our people, by any entity. Some Units focus on the border security mission. Some do both.

The ACM County Units, supported by Militia groups from outside of Arizona, will conduct Operation Defiant Sentinel this Fall. Our Mission will be to Search and Destroy the Zetas and other armed, uniformed foreign military forces, and drive them out of Arizona.

A federal law enforcement agent who wants to remain anonymous has told the U.S Border Fire Report that if and when militia groups do commit crimes on any federal lands it will be investigated by the FBI.

When asked if his agency was investigating any of the alleged killings by American militias of Mexican nationals on federal lands he replied, yes.

When this same agent was asked if his agency was investigating an alleged cover-up by Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, as claimed by an alleged Zetas officer. The allegation was in regard to the two now believed Mexican drug smugglers found dead in the desert recently and the two Zetas solders that allegedly were killed by American militia and the three Zetas that were allegedly wounded near Ruby Arizona. He said, “No comment.”

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu has made headlines for his tough stance against the powerful Mexican drug cartels who smuggle drugs and humans through his county every day.

Recently on KPHO 5 News, he took a stand against a different group.

"Not only do we not encourage, we did not invite, and we do not want this group or other groups to come into our county," Babeu said, referring to militias and other known groups like the one led by J.T. Ready, allegedly a reputed neo- Nazi. According to Ready he has been leading armed vigilantes into areas of the Pinal County desert where drug activity is frequent.

"This is an extreme group that does not represent me, does not represent Arizona, and does not represent the private citizens who do want ligament action to be taken," Babeu said.

Ready's group may have gotten the attention of the Los Zetas drug cartel in Mexico.

"They attribute a vigilante group, much like this, to having killed the members of their cartel and we're a part of it which is false and is something would never happen," Babeu said.

Babeu still believes a rival cartel was behind the deadly showdown in his desert, and said the threat will not intimidate his department.

Babeu admits, with groups like Ready's patrolling the desert, the likelihood of a war erupting between citizens and heavily armed drug cartels may be eminent.

"We cannot have groups go out there, believing they have the authority of law enforcement and taking actions into their own lands," Babeu said.

He said his department will prosecute anyone who takes the law into their own hands.

ISIS is operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas, according to Judicial Watch sources that include a Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector.

No doubt that many of these cartel/terrorists will be using the Organ Mtn. range (along the Tx./ New Mex. border) that Obama just recently made a National Monument which makes it nearly impossible for Law Enforcement to patrol. National Law enforcement, Border Patrol local Police and County Sheriffs have been warning of this expected occurrence for a while now and many suspect that this was part of the Obama agenda all along. It is rumored that there are militia groups that are studying this issue very closely and intend a response by monitoring and surveying this dangerous situation. According to law enforcement the exact location where the terrorist group has established its base is around eight miles from the U.S. border in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Another ISIS cell to the west of Ciudad Juárez, in Puerto Palomas, targets the New Mexico towns of Columbus and Deming for easy access to the United States, the same knowledgeable sources confirm. During a recent joint operation the Mexican Army and federal law enforcement officials discovered documents in Arabic and Urdu, as well as “plans” of Fort Bliss – the sprawling military installation that houses the US Army’s 1st Armored Division and where the unit designed to respond to any threats on or near the U.S. Mexican Border. Muslim prayer rugs were recovered with the documents during the operation. Law enforcement and intelligence sources report the area around Anapra is dominated by at least three major Mexican Drug Cartels the Los Zetas, Vicente Carrillo Fuentes Cartel (“Juárez Cartel”), La Línea (the enforcement arm of the cartel) and the Barrio Azteca (a gang originally formed in the jails of El Paso and considered one of the most dangerous in the USA). Cartel control of the Anapra area make it an extremely dangerous and hostile operating environment for Mexican Army and Federal Police operations. According to these same sources, “coyotes” engaged in human and drug smuggling – and working for Juárez Cartel – help move ISIS terrorists through the desert and across the border between Santa Teresa and Sunland Park, New Mexico. To the east of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, cartel-backed “coyotes” are also smuggling ISIS terrorists through the porous border between Acala and Fort Hancock, Texas. These specific areas were targeted for exploitation by ISIS because of their understaffed municipal and county sheriffs dept. forces, and the relative safe-havens the areas provide for the unchecked large-scale drug smuggling that was already ongoing. Mexican intelligence sources report that ISIS intends to exploit the railways and airport facilities in the vicinity of Santa Teresa, NM (a US port-of-entry). The sources also say that ISIS has “spotters” located in the East Potrillo other Mountains of New Mexico (largely managed by the Bureau of Land Management) to assist with terrorist, human and drug crossing operations. ISIS is conducting reconnaissance of regional universities, national railroads, Elephant Butte and Percha dams and the waters of the Rio Grande river, the military and government operations at White Sands Missile Range; Air force and government facilities in Alamogordo, NM and Ft. Bliss; and the electrical power facilities near El Paso, Anapra and Chaparral, NM.

IS THE LAND MINE? In a landmark case in 1930, the Supreme Court stated that: When the location of a mining claim is perfected under the law, it has the effect of a grant by the United States of the right of present and exclusive possession. WHAT IF I FIND OTHERS CAMPING, FISHING, HUNTING HIKING, ETC ON MY CLAIM? Others may recreate on an unpatented mining claim, however: you have the right to post mining claim signs warning the public of possible hazards and dangerous conditions pertaining to your mining procedures.
